Write for Us

At Rewind, we always want to give you the opportunity to write about the history you love. We therefore like to leave things open to you to choose the focus of your piece! We also put out pitches in line with the MMW course taken by all history undergraduates, as well as relevant history news pitches! The best way to contact us to propose an idea, as well as submit completed articles, is to email us at warwickrewindeditor@gmail.com or message us on our WhatsApp group. We want the majority of our articles to have been thought up by you, so if you have an idea, do get in touch, be it a book review, opinion piece or anything else, we'd love to see it and get it published!

We put out pitches regularly through our WhatsApp group (click here to join). Please make sure your article is:

  • Between 600-900 words

  • Well evidenced and substantiated

  • Hyperlinks provided for sources where appropriate

Our pitches will try to balance a range of historical periods, and leave scope for different opinions, focuses and conclusions. We will also try to put out a range of article types including opinion pieces, informative pieces, interviews, book recommendations, updates on history-related news and much more.

We encourage you to write about topics you feel you're confident in, be it something you have or are studying here at Warwick, or something you might have studied at A-Level, and never had the opportunity to write about. Below are some topics covered by major exam boards in the UK that you might have studied and we would welcome articles on (thought you aren't limited to this list):
